You decide to go glamping. Camping with comfort. Since you are not twenty years old anymore and are finished sleeping on roots and rocks in a crappy tent half dead from alcohol poisoning. You rent a motorhome. One with all the hookups for electrics and plumbing, LED TV and lighting and a full kitchen. Hot water shower and an awesome bedroom. You have your site booked in Nova Scotia, ocean front and all the amenities. You pack all your clothes, hoodies, lumberjack shirts and camo pants and all. Now to pick a wristwatch. You settle on the Timex T40051 Expedition. Metal case, mineral glass (recessed) and a really fun dial with some color and pop. It has elements of traditional field watches. Not such a big case size (40mm) and 24 hour markers with a plain easy to read dial and photo luminescent hands and numbers. No usual Timex Indiglo light, but the lume will do just fine. It seems just the perfect style. Rugged and water resistant, fun colors and easy to read and stylish enough to wear while the barbeque cooks up something amazing for dinner. The genuine leather strap is comfortable and really well made. It keeps really good time, spot on with your cell phone, though you are mostly wearing it for fashion since you are on vacation. Goodbye deadlines!

Great looking watch for casual wear… Affordable… lightweight..with a nice bright dial…and simple functions..

I just received this watch. I had buyer’s remorse after ordering- and figured I would return it-until I received the watch!

I ordered it mostly as something to travel with for the Indiglo function for checking time when I awoke at night. After ordering I figured I might just return it as I already had a cheap digital Casio that worked fine for the above purpose. Plus I have another good quality field watch and a dressier watch. I also thought it might be small for day wear at the stated 37 mm and I am a senior who is near-sighted.

Both my wife and I really like the look of this watch (the leather strap is great). It looked bigger than the stated 37mm, maybe 39mm or 40mm compared to my other field watch, a 38mm in another brand. Whatever, the large numbers are very easy to read and the Indiglo function works well from my one test in a darkened room.

So I am keeping it and it probably will be in a regular rotation with the other watches. (The cheapo and very light resin Casio digital with Illuminator will probably still stay as my travel night watch).

A note to reviewers posting about no Indiglo on their purchased model. Not every model (like the blue version) says Indiglo on the face in the picture and there seems to be a bit of mm size variation in the colour options. So “caveat emptor” (let the buyer beware ) or at least check the listing carefully.

Beautiful field watch. The band takes few days to be soften.

I have one complain that it arrives me by outer box broken and the watch is open and exposed. But it reaches me without any damage.
