It’s not bad, but it’s a bit disappointing if you’re used to Pindi Chana/Chana Masala from companies like Kitchens of India or Taj Mahal. Firstly, it’s quite bland and I have to supplement it with some curry, chili, and other spices to give it some flavor and kick. Secondly, the sauce is more like a chunky paste than like a smooth cream sauce, and it has a lot less oil, so I end up having to add oil too, for flavour, texture, and to help diffuse the flavours of the spices. But, for some reason, Pindi Chana/Chana Masala from other companies tends to go out of stock very often, and the price fluctuates from reasonable to absurd, so this is Tasty Bite version can be a tolerable backup plan as you wait for the good stuff to come back in stock or to drop to civilized prices… so long as you enhance it a bit.
I’d rather pay more for better food (within reason), but for someone who is on a tight budget, this Tasty Bite Channa Masala is a bargain. While it isn’t as tasty as the competition, it’s just as nutritious as the others, and it costs about half as much. If cost were factored in, it would be a 4-star rating. My 3-star rating concerns only the product, not the price.

I have these often for lunch, when I am having a busy day or are just too lazy to cook. Nice and creamy, well spiced, and a decent sized portion, Often I will add a little white rice, if there is some hanging around my fridge and this makes a more substantial portion size.

We tried this TASTY BITE Coconut Curry, and it’s a great deal compared to what we saw at local London Drugs. The curry is creamy with a mild, comforting coconut flavour, and the pouch heats up in minutes. Perfect for quick, tasty meals. The downside is often that this item is out of stock on Amazon.ca. Perhaps, it’s popular.
