Casio Men’s AE1300WH-8AV Sport Watch with Referee Timer

It’s a decent watch at reasonable price. Bought this to be used during sports activities. It has all the functionalities one would need during the activity such as stop watch, timer etc. Looks well made with promising long last battery life.

Very feature dense and plenty durable. Looks very cool in my opinion. This has become my favorite watch and I wear it almost every day. I will say though that the overall control scheme is a bit different from the AE1200WH series (which is my opinion is much better laid out and makes more sense) so that has been a little annoying to adjust to. Have gone swimming lots and never had any issues with water, and the face has been surprisingly tough against scratches.

I originally purchased the world time version of this watch, also known as the Casio Royal, back in 2013, it was meant to be a work/beater watch and it did just that, it was banged, scratched, smeared with dirty oil, coolant, grease, wd-40, I washed it off, every time it got grimey, took showers with it, swam in the lake, fixed 100s of vehicles, went through one cr2025 battery, one original band and two pins, it was an extremely faithful watch, right up until it just finally stopped working, a week or so ago…that’s twelve years of performance from a plastic $40.00(at the time) sports watch…so guess what I bought another one, although I’m not going to use this one for work, my older Casio moon phase, ocean tide, sports watch will be the next work watch, it’s Casio all the way for me, they are bullet proof watches, known for legendary water resistance, very good quality components, yet inexpensive to purchase. Fantastic prices, lately on Amazon.

Cuando compré este también ordené un Casio 1200WH (Royale negro) un poco por no dejar porque este estaba de buen precio. Cuando lo recibí y empecé a usarlo me gustó incluso más que el Royale.
Es un reloj de un uso relativamente específico porque está diseñado para árbitros de partidos deportivos. Destacan sus funciones de cronógrafo y de timer de cuenta regresiva. En el cronógrafo va llevando dos cuentas: una que desde que se inicia nunca para y otra para las pausas (es perfecto para medir el tiempo en partidos de futbol americano). En el temporizador es donde destaca aún más: tiene varios temporizadores pre-ajustados de 10′, 12′, 15′, 20′, 25′, 30′ 35′, 40′ y 45′. Adicionalmente, tiene una función de hasta 9 intervalos con temporizadores independientes que son totalmente programables. Tiene solamente una alarma y señal horaria (chime) además de horario mundial.
Los dígitos son muy legibles. Los tres diales redondos arriba son más decorativos que otra cosa pero lucen bien y es divertido verlos.
Es un reloj de buen tamaño, más grande que un clásico Casio F91W pero mucho menor que un G-Shock (en la foto se puede notar la escala del reloj). Creo que es un buen tamaño que se adapta bien a todo tipo de muñecas porque en las delgadas no se ve monstruoso y en las muy grandes no parece tamaño pulguita.
Tiene batería de 10 años lo cual siempre es un plus para no andar con el problema de cambiar la pila a cada rato.
Casio siempre es garantía de calidad. Los acabados no decepcionan. Por cierto, los botones (pulsadores) son de buen tamaño y fáciles de operar.
La resistencia al agua es de 10bar, lo que permite meterse a nadar sin mayor problema.
En los contras yo veo tres, y cada quien debe decidir en qué medida le afectan: primero, la carátula es de acrílico, lo que hace que sea fácil de rayar (por otro lado también es fácil de pulir); segundo, la iluminación es de dos LEDs ámbar menos eficientes que los sistemas electro-luminiscentes pero cumpke su función; tercero, la hebilla de la correa es de plástico y no de metal.
En cuanto al precio, es un poco más caro que los modelos más básicos de Casio, pero creo que la relación costo/beneficio es definitivamente muy buena. A mí me sirve mucho la función de los temporizadores para cocinar.
Finalmente, en lo estético es un reloj que a mí me gusta mucho; el color gris oscuro lo hace interesante. Es súper ligero y uno se olvida de traerlo.
Personalmente me gustó mucho y lo uso con más frecuencia que el Casio Royale. En definitiva estoy muy contento con la compra.

Bought this for work where it would get wet on occasion, wanted a timer function, and it needed to be easily cleanable. This watch served the needs well until today, 2 yrs, 3 months. I leaned against a railing, nothing dramatic, and the casing, where the strap pin fits, snapped off at both ends of one pin. Hmm. Yes, it’s plastic but so is my 30 yr old Timex Expedition that I switched the band to. This should have lasted longer.

This watch has innumerable functions (modes).

Time in 12 or 24 hour format in hours minutes and seconds, with or without DST, date day and month.

Stop watch targets from 1 min to 60′.

Countdown timer for single or loop/cyclic function 10′,12′, 15′, 20′, 25′, 30′, 35′, 40′, 45′, interval options.

9 interval timer options (use all or as many of these 9 as you wish). Measuring unit: 1 second. The options clearly described in the enclosed instruction manual (keep it, as you might need it again and again as you discover new functions, if you loose it, a pdf version is available at the casio website).

You also have an option of one international city which you can choose from a long list of available options, on that screen you’ll also be able to see your chosen local time.

Choice of one alarm. You can choose to have a beep with every hour too.

Haven’t checked the water resistance feature so cannot comment on that, it did survive in rain though.

It does have a small light which you can easily switch on for a split second for looking at the time in dark.

All in all, its a great watch at a great price with easy to understand instructions.

It doesn’t look like an expensive watch, which it isn’t. But it also doesn’t look cheap. Its the old Casio look. You do have other colour options here at amazon.

Also remember its a big men’s watch, though if bulky look is not an issue, ladies can also enjoy the numerous functionalities this watch offers as none of the casio ladies watches offer the same.

If you want multiple alarms this is not the watch for you, however if lap times and stop watch features etc are what you are looking for or looking for a good sturdy watch with accurate time, then this is a very good buy.

A little larger than the classics but exactly what I expected. Great watch!
