BLACK+DECKER Programmable Digital Coffeemaker,12-Cup Coffee Machine, Black

This is the same basic programmable coffee pot B&D has sold for decades. It’s replacing an earlier B&D model that works exactly the same and was 13 years old. Programming is easy, especially if you’ve had earlier versions of this coffee maker. This model does take a bit longer than other models to brew a pot, but that’s mainly due to the water delivery system in it, I think. The coffee is worth waiting for, it’s got a good taste. It comes out as hot as any drip maker I had too.

I can see why other reviews are negative about the design and durability; but they’re not right. The previous B&D maker I had was 13 years old and just getting replaced because it was getting old and gross. It feels like cheep plastic and it’s light, but the thing is… this is a drip maker. That’s what they are. That’s why this is inexpensive. It’s a workhorse though. 13 years, no problems, used daily.

Over all, this is a great coffee maker. Solid design and will last for years. It’s got a good size for the kitchen with no large footprint and is easily moved around as needed.

I am very disappointed. My last 2 Black & Decker Coffee Makers were amazing, so when I accidentally burned out my 2nd one, I tried to order the Black & Decker Coffee Maker that was most closely like my last two, since they quit making that particular model. So I chose this one. Unfortunately, this new coffee maker is a more cheaply made version. The plastic lid is flimsy and sometimes doesn’t fasten down square on. The caraffe lid is flimsy, compared to the previous ones. This one leaks onto the hot plate nearly everytime I remove the caraffe, making me spend extra time to clean it off before replacing the caraffe. The cup numbers on the caraffe do not match up with the cup measurement marks on the side of the coffee maker! When I open the lid to remove the grounds and wipe the inside of the lid, it leaks water out the back and down the back of the coffee maker and onto the counter, requiring me to clean that up everytime. The previous pot only leaked down the back when it was opened after it had made a full pot of coffee. The caraffe lid is extremely difficult to remove from the caraffe, making it difficult to load in the dishwasher. I’ve only forced the lid off once, and I thought it was going to break something. I only gave this coffee maker 2 stars since it does make decent coffee, in spite of the flimsiness and frustrations with this coffee maker.

Bought a new Black n Decker coffee machine for Christmas. Bought Nov 23 2024 my old Decker I had for 10 years and decided to get a new one. Last week end of March, I started having problems with the top of the coffee maker, it does not latch. Now I have to stand over it with a sweater and hold the top down while it brews. This is very disappointing and inconvienant, I guess I’ll be looking for a new one. My daughter told me to make a review about it.

Good coffee maker. Nothing fancy but works well. We usually only make 4-6 cups at the time. We have used it daily, sometimes more than once, for over 2 years and it’s still working well. The brew later programming function works great and we use it often. My only complaint is that the “on” light is really hard to see.

Basic coffee pot capable of making a large, hot pot of black goodness that helps me ‘get through this thing called life’. I am going all the way (5 star) for this basic drip maker. Obviously you can spend $400 and get a superior machine but in the basic coffee pot category? This one is great. Our last machine was so bad we celebrated when it died.

Our last pot went through paper towels and cuss words like they were in competition with each other. Trying to pour from the carafe was a bloody nightmare with coffee dribbling off the pot mid pour. I hated that friggn thing. So did my hubs. This pot is so easy to pour from. It makes NO MESS.

This one is easy to pour water into the back. There is no missing the pour area unless maybe you are drunk. (Note: Resulting cup of coffee may vary if/when there is alcohol involved.)

It has a standard reusable basket for grounds right in the front that is super easy to clean, etc

The auto shut-off works TOO GOOD for all day drinkers. I appreciate the safety feature regardless. It does it’s job. I just have to keep turning it on. That is a personal preference that has more to do with my addiction than it does the integrity of the coffee pot.

It has a timer so you can have that baby cooking up your first morning pot while you are still drooling on your pillow.

Anyways, Good pot, good coffee. I really hope his one lasts longer than the last one. If it doesn’t, I will probably look for an upgraded pot with the same carafe.
