I love the fact that these are made without red dye 40 etc. however the “red” ended up pink, and the blue did not show up in our cake mix. Very pastel, and just wasn’t the vibrancy we were going for. No strange tastes, and otherwise the quality was good.

I purchased this because I’m on a hunt for using no artificial colours. I’m so glad that this is an option. Be aware when baked (ie cake) the colours turn out less vibrant so try using more in your batter than you think.

What’s better than a regular birthday cake?! A super cute colourful cake decorated with irresistible buttercream frosting – that’s what!
My buttercream turned out so well, and these did not augment the flavour and do not contain artificial colours. So happy with these!

The Watkins Assorted Food Coloring Kit is excellent! Each color — red, yellow, green, and blue — is rich and vibrant, and just a few drops go a long way. The colors blend smoothly into icing, batter, and dough without affecting taste.

I used a half bottle of the red in a1/2 cup of rice flower and it never got any darker than a very light pink. Very pale shades. Would not buy again 🙁

The only reason for the 4 stars is because the yellow and green are basically the same color when mixed with a white base.
No taste, I haven’t tried baking with it yet but I use it in my homemade playdough and it works well. I got my baker to use this product when ordering my kids’ birthday cookies and the colors are vibrant and no icky taste. 10/10 would recommend!
