This tenderizer arrived in a thin corrugated box with the tool in a small plastic bag. I appreciate that both ends of the box were sealed with a round sticker tape so I know it’s a brand new item. The tool is bright and shiny silver color, with a logo etched on the handle. It has a good weight, and the handle being rectangular with a textured surface, sits well in my palm. This hammer is one continuous unit without any seams, unlike some others that are assembled in 2 pieces due to combination of metal/plastic parts. I was comparing a few different hammers but have decided on this because of the size of the working surface, this has the biggest hammering surface and is the most expensive one out of all. It appears to be well made, but I was not too amused that it sounds hollow when I tap/click on it (1 star off) whereas my old meat hammer sounds solid albeit it has oxidized to a blackish color after years of use, which is why I wanted to get a new one. A small little pamphlet that came with this tool says it can be used to smash nuts and ice, but I worry doing so due to the possible hollow center. This is supposedly stainless steels with 5 years warranty, so let’s hope this really is the case as that was one of my deciding factor on this purchase. The hollow sound is a bit of concern for me, but otherwise i am happy with this. Fingers crossed on longevity. This hammer is priced at $40 and a $2 coupon is available.
