This camera is confusing. It’s confusing how to turn it on, and it’s confusing why you have to use the camera’s own Wi-Fi network and not your own. The screen is tiny, which makes it hard to see anything clearly. Pairing the camera with my phone using the SJCAM app was also frustrating.
You’re supposed to be able to view the camera footage on your phone, but how?
The tiny instruction manual that came with it is unhelpful and “unreadable”. I went to YouTube looking for tutorials.
The best I could find were “unboxing” videos or instructions in languages I couldn’t understand, with more confusing explanations.
I was looking for a simple camera: one you turn on, record with, and play back easily. This device feels like you need a month-long course to operate.
People are used to their phone’s camera and find it easy because if you’ve used one camera’s interface, you’ve used them all.

Trying to learn this camera made me feel like I needed to be a rocket scientist, and I smart.
I want to stop putting videos my phone, but this little camera is not going to work!
I figured I could learn the camera right before the U.S. holidays, and I was wrong! You need a college course.
The parts feel cheap (like something from a dollar store), and the little camera actually feels like it has a fever—it runs so hot.
If you are just an average person trying to take pictures and record videos, and you have only ever used your cell phone’s camera, you will not understand how to use this product.

Only had this for a few days, so I may update my review later. Initial impressions are very good. Looks reasonably well made and the addition of a longer life battery is a nice bonus. Plenty of accessories too, things such as a waterproof housing and a bracket assembly for using it as a dash cam. These unfortunately only fit the smaller battery (as far as I can see). The controls are fiddly as they’re touch screen and of course the screen is, by necsessity, small. Even with my slim fingers I found it tricky changing the 4k settings. Removing the small battery is a doddle, just a press on the button on the base. Removing the larger battery is not ideal as there is no button and it seems it has to be forced off. All in all though, I’m pretty satisfied up to now. Worth the money. Update: I have now used one of the attachments and tried it as a dashcam. I am really impressed, it’s simple but effective. It picked up the conversation in the car very well, although this wasn’t a necessity for me. I edited the finished video segments in DaVinci Resolve, but that’s just my personal taste. I now give it a cautious 5 *.

it is a small item to carry not like my larger one

Picture quality is good however it is difficult to maneuver the touch screen as it is very small. The magnet is also not that strong.
