These are the best straps I’ve ever used. I definitely would recommend for people really trying to get the mind-muscle connection!! Because I know my grip is not the best but this takes the pump to a whole next levellll. It takes some getting use to but overall 10/10 🌟

Three stars for being significantly cheaper than “the real thing”, but only three stars because it was designed by somebody who apparently doesn’t even lift heavy weights. The “upgrade new quality features” need to be cut off in order for this product to work as normal. I wish I had noticed this before I bought it.

If you don’t already know, then this grip-assist product by Orange Forest is a cheaper version of “Versa Gripps”. If you do an internet search for “how to use versa gripps”, and then go to the page called “How to Use Versa Gripps Wrist Straps for Lifting”, then you’ll see a picture of a hand wearing a Versa Gripp. Orange Forest has made their grip-assist version of this product WAY longer than Versa Gripps, which long story short, means that “pull exercises” don’t go as planned while using this Orange Forest product.

If you look at the product listing “upgrade” photo, and then compare it to a Versa Gripp, then you can see that you should be cutting off the extra material “above the X” on the palm of this Orange Forest product. This means basically removing the “cowhide anti-slip bump” in order to make this product “normal”. I attached a picture of what my Orange Forest looks like after I cut off the extra material.

The extra material and length on the Orange Forest product basically renders the thumb cut out useless for a pull exercise when you wrap the bar, because you can wrap the extra length all the way around the bar and them some, and then this blocks your thumb. If you don’t cut off the extra length, and if you want this to work like a grip-assist product, then you have to fold the “cowhide anti-slip bump” over onto itself into a double-layer in order to do a pull exercise. If you don’t fold the extra length into a double-layer, then your “grip” would be left holding the bar with your fingers hanging open, much like how your fingers would look if you were using metal lifting hooks, but you’re not using metal hooks. If you don’t trim the extra length, and if your try to grip the bar in a way such that your fingers are not hanging open, then you end up using your entire grip strength to hold the bar while wearing these, but, consider that having grip-assist is the whole point of owning something like this in the first place.

People use this sort of product so that grip is not the limiting factor for working a muscle. If you don’t trim these, then they actually weaken your ability to grip for long heavy holds because you’re gripping the bar, plus the double-layer including the “cowhide anti-slip bump”, and so the “cowhide anti-slip bump” is adding to the diameter of the bar, and, then realize that it is harder and harder to grip a bar as the diameter increases.

In closing, if you think that my issue is somehow related to having small hands or short fingers, then I just wanna say that I am 6’3″ tall, and I weigh somewhere between 210 and 220 pounds, so my hands just might be bigger than yours. Just sayin. I’m disappointed with these, and I suspect that there may be bogus overly positive reviews because the product simply doesn’t perform as intended without modification, but I’ll see how long they last after cutting off the extra length, and from there I might go with genuine Versa Gripps next time. Edit: I’ve been using these now for about six weeks, and they still seem to be basically like new, so it looks like they wear pretty well. Other than needing to modify them by cutting off the excess material, I’m satisfied that they do what I want them to do, and, I would consider buying them again when this set wears out. Still might go with genuine Versa Gripps next time though.
