Biotin, or B7, is usually advertised for the development of healthy hair, skin and nails, but it’s also important for metabolizing fats, carbohydrates and proteins. More of its benefits are discovered every year.
What I appreciate about this Nature’s Bounty product:
– the large volume of capsules in the bottle, and that only one is recommended per day. Despite the low risk of overdosing, they advise no more than one a day. And, because of interaction with some medications, checking with your doctor and/or pharmacist prior to starting a regimen is recommended.
– the softgel caps are small, especially for their 10,000 mcg strength, so they’re very easy to swallow
– they are listed as non-GMO and contain no artificial flavour, sweetener, gluten or lactose
– unlike many OTC medications and supplements that are placed in huge oversized bottles in an attempt to give the appearance of more product than there actually is, this brand’s capsules come in a small and perfectly sized bottle So if or when the parent company “The Bountiful Company”, states they are concerned about the environment, they actually mean it, more than in word. (According to online sources, control of The Bountiful Company, who has been in business for fifty years, and with two of four locations in the US, was recently acquired by Nestle Health Science Company.)
– they are an excellent and consistent brand that I’ve been purchasing for many years. If deficient in this B vitamin, people will likely notice the difference in their hair, skin, nails, energy levels, healing time and/or metabolism, etc. from taking it, however, it takes time, and results don’t happen overnight.
– the expiry date: I purchased this bottle of 120 in October 2025 and the expiry date on the label is May 2027, which is excellent.

Please be aware that biotin can interfere with thyroid blood tests and skew their measurements, which could lead to a misdiagnosis or mismanagement of a thyroid condition. It’s highly recommended to stop taking biotin for at least 48 hours prior to thyroid function blood tests. I learnt of this from personal experience, and wish I had known sooner.

I’m also impressed with Amazon’s comparatively low price for this product. And barring any substantial changes in the brand’s quality, size, ingredients or packaging, from hereon in, I will continue buying Nature’s Bounty products here, and in this size and strength.
