This is an absolutely fantastic mug warmer and I love both the different temperature options and especially the timer……but, spoiler, I don’t use it for keeping drinks warm – I use it to restore plastic parts! Intrigued? Read on! I build plastic models and had a vac-formed canopy (clear part) from an old kit that was severely yellowed (well, browned, actually). I looked at videos online on how to restore plastic to looking new again, and found one convincing video of someone putting parts in peroxide, and using UV lights to keep the plastic and the peroxide bath at around 55°C (131°F). That person used a giant plastic bin and multiple UV LED tape lights and aluminum foil, but since I only had one canopy, I decided to modify the setup and buy this mug warmer, use a small Mason jar, fill it with peroxide, put my canopy at the bottom, put the Mason jar on the warmer, and put the whole lot on my window sill (free UV!). The multiple heat selections let me keep it at 55°C (131°F), which is warm enough to help/allow the reaction but won’t melt my canopy. The timer function lets me leave it on as long as there is sunlight and not have to worry about forgetting to turn it off. The temperature control is also accurate, because I needed to make sure that my part wouldn’t be affected (too hot = warped or melted), so I measured with a thermometer, and they agreed within a couple of degrees. After a couple of weeks, I’ve already noticed a lessening of the yellowing. Perfect.

I was looking for a nice cup warmer on my new desk, as my old one was actually purchased 10+ years ago at a drugstore and was indeed a wax-heater bought from the ladies cosmetic alley.. 😉
It did a great job, but lacked the ability to set the temperature, and had no timer.. I made up for the time by putting the wax-heater on a smartplug that would be programmed to turn off automatically after 4 hours.. but depending on the level of coffee left in the cup, it would just be burned to the bottom.
This one was interesting due to its 4 levels of temperature settings (between 55-85°C), which is really hot on level 4. Good for tea drinkers probably, but I haven’t yet tested it with tea. On the 1st level, the 55°C keeps the coffee warm, but not hot. I mostly switch that down from 65°C when the cup is at mid-fil as otherwise it gets too hot to my taste. Here is the catch: an intermediate setting of 60° would have been perfect, but then again, you can’t really fill everyone’s personal taste 🙂
I love the glass top vs. the metallic surface of my old one that was all scratched.. this one is really nice and the cups glide on the surface. Easy to clean!. There is no mechanical switch, everything is touch sensitive, so nothing mechanical can break.. Those tiny switches are often prone to fail after a few years. There are 4 rubber feet underneath which keeps it from sliding too easily on your desk. The power cord is about 5 feet long, which is just enough when I raise my variable desk in standing mode.. The wooden aspect makes it look nice on my bamboo-like desktop.
All in all very happy with my purchase and I hope it will last many years to come.

I bought this warmer more then a year ago, and still everything works and make me happy all year around, specially during the winter cold weather. I bought the same warmer to my wife , to my friends as a gifts, and everyone is truly appreciated this small, but very valuable small gizmo. I’ve extended a bit the legs with pads, so worm air from underneath ventilation is not hitting a table surface. Other than that, it is a Great product, great holiday touch. Highly recommend to everyone!
