I mainly eat this with my bananas. Bananas have too much carbs and this adds protein and fiber.
But it’s so great with sweet junk foods like cookies, pie, etc. Yes, it will bring down the taste slightly, but that’s a good thing because those foods are too addictive. It has a nice nutty flavor. At the same time it add tons of protein and fiber. Exactly what I need with carbs. I try to avoid sugar as much as possible, but if I do indulge in it, this stuff will make it much healthier.
Per 30g, it has 8g fiber and 15 g protein.
At $13 CDN, this is a bargain!
Would I buy this again? HEMP YEAH!!!

As I was getting low on Metamucil and ready to place another order, I decided to do a little research on what other options were available. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Metamucil brand of fibre supplements, but in reading up, there are a lot of negatives towards the brand, which of course needs to be taken with a grain of salt. The additives and most specifically the addition of Yellow Dye 6 may be of concern to some, not to mention the added sugar or artificial sweeteners used as well.

In noticing the Hemp Yeah brand fibre supplement, I read some of the reviews and almost decided to forego placing an order for it. Based on the price however, and seeing that it was domestically produced here in Canada, I was curious to judge for myself. Worst case, if it was that bad or not to my liking, I’d simply toss it.
Bottom line, am I ever glad I gave it a try and I certainly won’t be discarding it.

In my opinion, this product is really good! It works just like the other fibre supplement I was buying and the added protein is an additional bonus. The cost is lower than what I expected for a product of this nature as well.

Most importantly, I must say that I am confused with the negative feedback regarding the flavor. I have been using it for a week now and have not noticed ANY flavor whatsoever…good or bad. I was expecting to at least detect an “earthy” or “musky” vibe to it, but I don’t? Perhaps if you simply mix it with water, a taste may be present, but I use it in my smoothies and the only thing that you may notice is a very, very slight grit texture to it. That doesn’t bother me and in fact, I like how it adds a nice texture to the smoothie itself.

I have one of those small “Magic Bullet” blenders and here’s what I do…
(1) Small or Medium Banana
(1/2) cup of Plain or Vanilla Greek Yogurt
(2) tablespoons of peanut butter
(1 to 2) tablespoons of honey (optional depending on how sweet you prefer your smoothies)
(1) very heaping tablespoon of Hemp Yeah powder
Top the container up with 2% milk and blend for 30 seconds or so.
If it’s too thick, take a few gulps and add more milk and you’re off to the races.

I could drink this all day long…
I sometimes add some unsweetened Fry’s cocoa powder or a level teaspoon of Nescafe instant coffee just for an added boost and coffee flavor.

As far as any Cons go, I don’t have any unless the price of this starts to jump up like everything else in life.
I will be ordering more of this once I run low as it gets to the door within 2 days of hitting the happy button.

So okay Hemp Yeah, heck yeah, good stuff!

I am always on the look out for new plant based protein powders. I thought I would give this one a whirl. I like that it is a good source of fibre and has some amino acids in it. I am not a fan of the texture or taste that it adds to smoothies though. I’ve found the only way to mask it is by adding peanut butter and banana to a smoothie but that gets boring over time. If you add it to a fruit smoothie it doesn’t taste very good. Its also quite gritty compared some other plant protein powders I’ve tried. The puke green colour that it turns your smoothie into is also not appealing. I’m also used to havingmore protein per serving. You have to use 4 tbsps to equal a serving and it only amounts to 15g of protein. I really wanted to like this one but will not be re-buying.
