I cannot believe I even found such a beautiful journal that meets all my expectations. I love to journal maybe even too much and I tend to buy a lot of notebooks since I am super picky and particular about the notebooks probably from slight OCD. Finding this journal was like hitting the jackpot, Its durable has lots of pages, can lay flat, has a closure elastic, has numbers on each page, has a pen holder, has a pocket in the back, has a “this book belongs to” page, has a contents page, a tester page for pens, and on top of all that it even came with tabs to divide sections of the book. I literally post an image of this journal to my Instagram every week like its a trophy. I don’t even think I’ll ever even think to buy from another store or website again, this book is everything I need, I even consider it the ”perfect” journal. If you are on the fence, consider this review your sign to buy it, YOU WON’T REGRET IT.

Great journalling notebook. Firstly, the pages ARE ivory, I don’t think this was made clear from the photos or the product description but after a brief disappointment (my first journal had white paper & I was looking for another with white paper) I’ve actually come to enjoy using ivory coloured paper. 7mm line spacing was strange to get used to at first (having had 8mm spacings on my first journal) but I actually prefer this too. The paper quality is top notch, as described, it doesn’t bleed through or feather the ink and I write with a fountain pen so it definitely is a winner there. It even handles using ink eraser fluid with no problems as well as Tippex tape for my biro. The two bookmarks are a great feature; I keep on the contents page to add the next entry title quickly and one at the page I’ve reached so I can pick up where I left off easily. Most of all, I really like the contents pages section and the fact that the pages are numbered; it makes it super quick and easy to find specific entries you want to refer to which is a game changer compared to my first journal. Lastly, the inclusion of free post it notes is just a bonus. Will definitely be buying more of these journals.

It seems like Offigift took the best features of all the brand name notebooks and put them together in one. Nothing is stopping the other brands from improving their products but they like to stick to their traditional feature set. I’ve used Moleskines almost exclusively for more than 20 years, and I like the compactness of the thin paper and narrow ruled lines. Two decades of Moleskines take up a LOT less room than two decades of any other notebook, and I won’t stop using them for my personal journal. But I thought I would try something new for my studies and this journal seemed ideal. I especially wanted numbered pages, which narrowed the field, and this notebook also had more pages and more features than the big brands.

The quality of the book seems excellent. The paper is smooth, opaque, and a pleasant cream colour (fortunately cream coloured correction tape is now available). The lines are wider than I’m used to but it makes for neater notes. The pages are also wider than the Moleskine, which partially makes up for the reduced number of lines on the page (27 vs 31). The binding lays perfectly flat right from page one. The page numbers are a bit small but I like that they are not right at the corner, so I can still snip the corners to flip quickly to the next blank page. The pen loop and elastic seem sturdy (Moleskine elastics are notorious for stretching out). I don’t use the ribbons but it’s nice that they’re there.

My only complaint is the colour range. I don’t like most of the colours (I got the cyan one), and it would be nice to have some more modern colour choices, like the Paperage notebooks or Morandi colours. The page flags and tabs that come with the notebook are in neon colours that don’t go with the notebook and aren’t very aesthetic either. The texture of the cover is a little old-fashioned but that’s not a big deal. If they updated the colours I would get them all just to have them on hand. As it is I’ll see if there’s anything nicer when I finish this one, but for now I think these are the best quality, value, and functionality out there.
