Has nice resolution, but cannot update the correct date time group. When recording videos it has a time stamp of 1 January 2024.

You will love or hate this camera, depending on your individual perspective and what your needs are. This camera is good for what it is good for and terrible at what it is terrible at. As long as you don’t mind this, and as long as what it can’t do doesn’t annoy you too much, and what it can do happens to be the bare minimum of what you actually need to have done, then you’ll be in pretty good shape with this thing. If you need something professional with a lot of advanced capabilities, this is the wrong camera for that.

While the video resolution technically is 1920 x 1080, there is too much pixelation and other distortion which I noticed which leads me to believe that it is most likely recording in something closer to 360 or 480, and then scaling the size but without improving the quality. So, the focus is to fit onto a high resolution screen, but not to actually make the video itself into a true high resolution video. It is basically equivalent to taking a super cheap and super old school web cam, giving the thing its own battery and usb c power port, building a card reader into it and calling it good.

This means both the video and audio will in most cases be “just okay” but don’t expect anything spectacular. Also, because you can not directly control any of the audio or video settings, quality may vary based on distance, wind conditions and other factors. It records video to a standard MP4 format, in chunks of 5 minutes each. So, the time you have to record using a 128GB memory chip is about twice as much time as the cam itself is physically capable of on a single recharge. Battery life isn’t half bad, either. Approximately 5 hours without usage of the onboard LED light, and approximately 2 hours if you elect to use the LED light.

Its ability to take photos is confusing and highly unnecessary. With a device like this, it is much easier to take a screenshot of a video frame using VLC, SMPlayer, Amarok or whatever your favorite media player happens to be. It is a standard feature these days. Building the function into a cam that has only 2 physical buttons and no screen of its own, just adds extra unnecessary complexity to the device.

If you make tourism level travel videos such as I do on PSECmedia, then this cam will probably be okay for you. If however you are looking for totally professional level graphics quality and performance, you’ll be barking up the wrong tree with this cam. Sometimes you get what you pay for. So, this cam has good value for the price tag, but it is NOT a pro cam. Just use standard micro sd cards formatted in the exFAT file system and all should be well, regardless of your device or its OS.
