I was hesitant to try this product after reading some of the negative reviews, but then I thought to myself, could it really be that bad if it made it to market? I tried it today. The packaging and branding is really cute. I was looking forward to trying it initially based solely on that, as well as that these types of supplements are supposed to be really good for calming and helping with anxiety . But I had anxiety thinking about trying it once I heard about it. Anyways, the powder ha a nice vanilla sugar like smell. It doesn’t specify how many grams of powder are in each packet so I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting in to. I poured a bit in my hand, it’s beige. I tried a lick. It seemed like maybe it was ok, so I tried more. Then I realized it was not ok. I couldn’t even finish the sprinkle on my hand. The taste, texture. It melts quickly but it leaves behind the flavour. I couldn’t imagine straight pouring this into my mouth in one go. I don’t understand why they went this route, when it tastes this way. Why wasn’t this a capsule? I can’t do it. I hope the company takes note and changes the formula to make this a veggie capsule instead.

I have ADHD so focusing can be a bit of a challenge sometimes (even with medication), as well as issues with anxiety (specifically when under immense emotional stress), and unfortunately ARFID (making me extremely sensitive to taste, and other “sensory inputs” — such as smell).

So what I can say is that this has helped both my concentration and anxiety when I’ve needed it. I’ve only truly needed that extra bit of help on two occasions in the last month, but I’m not sure I’d be able to justify the cost if I needed to take it daily — or even if it was an every other day thing.

I am quite fond of the packaging as well. I find the individual packets convenient, and seem durable enough not to be punctured in my bag.

My main complaint is the taste. The powder does smell like vanilla when opened, but the actual taste of the powder is far less pleasant. I actually really, really hate the taste of it BUT as I said, I have ARFID so that does contribute to my extreme response.

That said, due to the efficacy of the product, I’m hoping that I’ll manage to desensitise myself to the taste because it truly has helped me when I’ve felt the need to use it.

I’m so torn. One part of my loves the originality and almost ‘fun’ of all of the different formats the Energy Bird supplements come in. The other part wishes they were all just in capsules that came in jars. Would be easier to remember how to take them, more consistent, and less waste.

Having said all that, this supplement is supposed to relief stress relief, and the format it comes in is an edible powder (not drink mix). It is supposed to be vanilla flavored and it’s mostly about right. It’s nice enough, but it has a hint of something I don’t love – perhaps an artificial sweetener? I can’t exactly tell. The format is also okay, but with two of the 20 or so packets I’ve consumed, after dumping the powder into my mouth, I ended up breathing some of it in and it made me choke. I feel like I know how to consume powder – I was once a fan of pixie sticks – so I’m not sure if it was just a fluke, or it’s superfine powder or something, but at any rate, one more reason why I’d prefer a different means of ingestion.

Lastly, I didn’t not experiece any noticeable/negligible effect. It’s always hard to review and quantify supplements – different things work in different ways for different people. Ultimately, though, if the purpoe of the product is to provide stress relief and promote calm, and that was not what I experienced, I can’t give it a five-star review.

I’ll continue using them, since I’ve already got them – who knows, maybe I need a month’s worth of use to notice the effects. Will update my review should my experience change.

  4. Amazon Customer

I’ve been experimenting with Energy Bird products for a few weeks now, and I’m very satisfied with the results. I can’t say for sure if there’s a bit of a placebo effect involved, but I genuinely feel like they help me find a better balance. Sometimes the format is chewable pills or small shot-style bottles, but this one comes as a powder sachet that you take directly in your mouth.

This product is meant to help you calm down when stress takes over, or to ease into the end of the evening. I wasn’t familiar with the active ingredient at first, but it does seem to help bring you into a more relaxed mood when needed. I even suggested it to a few comedian friends who like to unwind before a performance. And once again, the product design really stands out. The small box with a hole in the center almost feels like tea bag packaging, which is both original and very easy to spot on a pharmacy shelf.

Honestly have no idea what Energy Bird was thinking with these. Their other capsules and dissolvable tablets all taste pretty good, but this, is exactly like eating chalk if you do what they suggest and just pour it right into your mouth. UGH.

Only real way to make these remotely palatable I have found is to either put the packets into a glass of water and just chug it quick, or to put it in water with their dissolvable Build My Energy tablets. On their own, and used as directed, these taste absolutely horrible. Anyone who says they taste good, I really have to question if they actually used these as directed.

So bad in taste that you really do not want to take them so while they may provide benefits it is just so hard to get past the taste that you want to use them.

Fortunately for them, the other Energy Bird supplements I have tried are much better so I know the company can do better. Perhaps they need to just try to make these into dissolvable tablets or figure out some other way to take these, where it feels a lot less like eating chalk.

One star, because you can’t open these without scissors, defeating the portability, and the taste is just awful.
