The Cobbe Handheld Shower Head with Filter is a solid product for the price. The 6 spray modes offer plenty of variety, and the built-in filter is a nice touch for improving water quality. It’s easy to install and has a sleek, modern design.

However, the water pressure isn’t as strong as I expected. While it works fine for most uses, it doesn’t quite deliver the high-pressure experience I was hoping for.

Overall, it’s a good showerhead with great features, but if you’re looking for maximum water pressure, you might want to explore other options. Still, a great value for its price!

INTRO:

I ordered this simply because of the description in the ad: “Our showerhead has a quadruple 15-stage powerful filtration layer. It effectively removes impurities and residual chlorine, heavy metals (lead, mercury, nickel, chromium) and other harmful substances from the water. Enjoy your shower and improve your health at the same time.”

According to what we have been told, the water in our house is considered moderately hard (TDS ratings of 105-120 depending on various times of year & different TDS units). We REALLY wanted this shower head to work for us and were excited when it came but after a few months of usage, it shows the EXACT same type of mineral deposits as our previous one, and our skin and hair have felt zero difference.

It got to the point where last week, I opened up the “tube” or “handle” of the shower head to see what was inside. At first, I saw a few, small balls. Remembering the ad showed lots of layers of these, I started gently pouring out the rest and to my disappointment, there was no layering or different colours like you see in the photos in the ad. The balls were all just a dark grey to black colour and there certainly weren’t any orange ones (bright or dull orange ones, depending on which photo you look at in the ad) like you see in the photos on the Amazon ad.

PROS:

1. The shower head works well as a shower head and offers six different types of water or showering modes.

CONS:

1. The hose that came with our shower head was cheap and blew a tiny leak. Buy yourself a better quality one if you don’t already one.

2. The shower head and lever to change between modes (and most likely and more importantly, the valve inside) is made out of plastic. As such, I am not expecting this to last like a stainless steel shower head will.

3. Our shower head did not soften our hard water, nor did it seem to filter anything. PLEASE NOTE: We were not expecting this to filter our hard water and turn it into the equivalent of the water we get from our under-sink, reverse osmosis system for drinking. However, the seller/manufacturer advertises this as both a water softener and water filter. They fooled us.

SUMMARY:

This shower head has received a number of positive reviews. I assume that is either because those people have much softer water than we do, or we received a defective unit that wasn’t filled with the correct filter layers or “stones” and didn’t realize it.

If you have hard water with a TDS level over 100, I would advise you to stay away from this product. If you receive the same thing we did, you will be wasting your money.

PS. I dumped the the little round balls into the garbage, soaked the shower head in vinegar for a few hours and now the the mineral deposits and blocked shower head holes are gone. We will put this somewhere as a backup but our previous stainless-steel shower head has been up for a few days. We will stick with the tried and true.

I have purchased more than a few shower heads in my day… from moving and not caring to take it with me, to ones breaking, to whatever other reason… and this one is my favourite!

The place I am currently living had a very generic shower head and it did not have good pressure… at all… this changed all that… my showers are now so relaxing and I get a super good clean with the strong pressure this provides!

However, my favourite feature is how you change the settings! Each shower head I had before you need to move a dial to go between settings, and sometimes it would be hard to move those dials… but with this one, you just need to click a button, and it makes the world of difference. Just click click click click click your way through all the settings with such ease!

UPDATE:
This showerhead does not last longer than a year! I guess, at the price that is not terrible, but when you don’t misuse your stuff and it just falls apart for no reason, it is still crappy! I have purchased this showerhead 3 times, now… the first time, the clip the holds the shower head broke, the second time the hose part got a hole in it and began shooting water everywhere. I just bought a third one, today… stay tuned for an update of when and how this new one breaks!

2nd UPDATE:
Ugh… do not waste your money… it is sad that when I first got this showerhead I have it a 5-star review because, for the price, it was very powerful and I licked the way you click the button to change the settings… however, I am now on my third one, because the other two randomly broke for no reason… they seem to last close to a year until something breaks and I need to buy a new one… and I was fine with that. However, my third one just arrives, I installed it and the water pressure is nearly half as powerful as the one, before… which means the quality is getting worse each time I buy it! Save yourself the hassle and just spend the extra $20 on a better showerhead!
