Casio Men’s Solar Powered Stainless Steel Quartz Resin Strap, Black, 22 Casual Watch (Model: MTP-S110-1AVCF)

I got this new solar watch, Casio MTP-S110, to hopefully start wearing watches again without much thought or preparation. I currently have multiple automatic watches (Swatch Sistem 51, Seiko SKX007, and Rolex Datejust 36mm), but I’ve stopped wearing watches regularly in recent years.

It has been a chore waking those watches up, and adjusting the time and date each time I need to use them. I’ve even noticed that the Seiko is running fast, and admittedly, I haven’t used it for at least a year (probably 2). I asked 2 places on cost to service them: 1 estimated Cdn $150, and another quoted Cdn $250. Thankfully the Swatch and Rolex still keep good time even after long periods of being left on the drawers.

I bought this watch for around Cdn $150, and I think it is a very reasonable price for this watch, and serves as its replacement. I’ve read and watched Youtube features on this watch, even cross shopping it against the Casio Duro, but the thought of another automatic watch that I may neglect wearing swayed me to this watch. I was quite aware of its “shortcomings” from the Duro and other watches (WR rating, non rotating bezel, etc), but I can live with those. I am a reformed desk diver, not a proper diver anyway. Hopefully just keeping it in a place that will receive natural and artificial light would make it ready to use anytime I want to wear a watch.

It is significantly lighter than my Seiko, and a tad bigger, but thinner. I also took out the supplied resin strap, and happy to see that my collection of NATO straps fit perfectly. The spring bars seem to be a bit thinner than the one in the Seiko, but as I chose to go that route (it was adequate with the strap), I can just find a more robust spring bar, or even try a QR spring bar. I think the resin strap is just fine, but I really like the look of NATO straps. I will get a rubber or silicone straps too soon on QR bars for ease of switching.

Great watch and you don’t have to worry about the battery. Solar is perfect.
Get it on sale. The hands are difficult to see when the light is low.
It’s accurate and looks good too! the only thing missing is the battery level indicator other than the second hand.

This watch is a little tank. A gift for Husband (a year ago) who wears it almost every day on the farm. It holds a “charge” and keeps the time so he’s never late for dinner. The crystal is strong enough to handle anything he bumps into and still looks like new. It’s definitely better suited for someone with a larger wrist as the face is quite big.

A very sturdy and economical daily-use watch (@C$98@Prmed day) but if you don’t mind for a fix bezel. This watch is waterproof 100m, solar powered with date day feature. This is why the price is higher than a Casio Duro series but Casio watch never disappoint me! I changed the plastic strap (which is OK and comfortable) to my own leather strap and it is more interesting and looking more luxury and beauty.
