Casio Men’s ‘Classic’ Quartz Resin Automatic Watch, Color:Black (Model: MRW200H-7BV)

This is my second watch like this. I use them as my beater watches. The white dial that I just purchased works great but I find the white hands hard to read with the white dial. I would suggest that they add black hands and then it would be perfect. The other one I own has a black dial and white hands and that one is really easy to read. I have one attached to my sea kayak and it lives there. It spends more time in the water and I have never had any water leaks with it. I’ve owned it now for 3 years and the battery is still good and it keeps time like a champ. I highly recommend this watch.

I knew going in this was a “few frills”, inexpensive ($26.66 from Amazon but $30-up from other sellers) watch, but when I got it I was still happy with it. At first.

Significant issue with the day of the week feature caused this watch to be returned within 5 days. I was going to try for exchange since I’m sure not all watches have the flaw, but Amazon was out of stock.

If it worked as intended, I’d say a solid 4 out of 5 stars at least on a review soon after purchase. I’d have to wait a month or two to check if was worthy of 5, as there are reviews saying it does not keep the time accurately after some time, and requires resetting.

Pros:
The black numbering on white face make it easy to read at a glance in most conditions
The band material is soft and flexible
Band hole punches are numerous and well spaced, should accommodate most wrist sizes
Rotating bezel, nice touch on an inexpensive watch
Easy to set time/day/date – and day/date on <$30 watch a bonus

Cons:
Bezel is simple friction, so can move either direction, and will likely loosen over time
Luminescence only on arms, not on face numerals – and doesn’t charge well in day/office light
FLAWED day mechanism! Starts to change day at 0130hrs, not settling on correct day until about 0430hrs – ludicrous

The date numeral changes fairly quickly, starting at about 2340hrs-ish, and quickly snapping over at midnight. Having day of the week stay for an extra hour and a half after midnight, then not finish its changing cycle for 3hrs is simply ridiculous. It starts to change, and for an hour you have no day at all as it’s between english and french display, then for another hour it’s showing the french for the wrong (previous) day, then takes another hour to transition again showing nothing at all until finally clicking to the current day of the week. This process should start no sooner/later than 2330hrs, and the whole rotation process should snap over at midnight with the date.

Maybe this would be acceptable for most that figure this is all happening while you’re sleeping, and it’s not a pricey watch. I’m a shift worker, and that would be effecting me for about 2 to 3 weeks out of every 5, not giving me correct day of the week when I check.

More reviews suggest hese watch models seem to have an ongoing issue with the day/date function.

Very good! It’s perfect material(rubber) so it’s doesn’t irritate my skin like others when I wash my hands and wrist gets wet. Top dollar for me.
