This spy pen offers a discrete way to monitor rooms in you’re domicile. The pen can actually be used as a real writing tool adding to it’s ( James bond ) cool factor. Yet comes with some caveats that we will discuss billow.

The build:
The pen is well built with a solid feel. Offering good weight and build materials. Strong enough that it could fall of a desk and still work just fine, Trust me I know. The pen comes in two parts. The actual pen tip receptacle unit ( comes with ink filled tips ). To replace sed tips, you need a small screw driver. The twisting mechanism for the tips is smooth and offers a solid frame for writing. Next comes the main body, where the battery and camera are situated. This portion does feel a bit larger then regular pens. Yet remains discrete enough, appearing quite normal upon quick inspection. The usb charging dock and TF flash memory card slots are well seated in the pens backside. This product comes with 64GB of flash storage in the box. Witch is a lovely addition especially at this price pint.

The pen stand:
This is one of the weaker aspects of the package. although it looks stylish, it is to light for the pens weight and can be easily tipped over. You can mitigate this issue buy purchasing micro adhesive grip pads.

Video quality:
The quick answer is good in high ambient lighting. This means daylight and lights on scenarios. The quality will sharply drop-off under dim and low lighting conditions. Offering a dirty grainy blocky image. That won’t be very useful. For you or law enforcement if they ask for proof of an event. When conditions are right the 2k image is good enough offering crips visuals and good detail retrieval. Especially at mid to near field viewing distances.

No sound:
Sadly this unit does not record audio, so if you need that type of function. Then this isn’t the product you want to purchase.

Inspection:
It’s only when you stop and examine the pen thoroughly. That you will notice some discrepancies that give it away. For example the blue light when recording mode is turned on. It will flash 5 times indicating video rec is activated. The fact that the end cap feels strange and does not function as a regular plunger for the stylist tip. The larger mirror finish on the pens pocket clip also is kind of strange. These are all things you will notice after examination.

Final thoughts:
For it’s low asking price you get a simple spy tool. Perfect for those who want discrete surveillance. Yet with no sound and mediocre video quality in low light. This might not be the right tool for the job for some.

This is an incredible video device that is not only amazingly discreet. But is also an outstanding audio/video playback capable security camera that can be used anywhere, anytime.

Playback is surprisingly quick and easy on multiple platforms. And can be reviewed with seconds after the initial setup. The included micro SD card removed and replaced within seconds. And the charge lasting for several hours. Allowing full use steady, well beyond 4hrs of continuous recording. And with a video quality that is amazingly crisp and clear for its size. Outperforming many more expensive and bigger cameras. Even in low light conditions. It performs exceptionally well.

The kit comes with extra pen cartridges that allow for full function writing. The smooth, easy glide ballpoint style, makes it fully useful for everyday use. I’ve been surprised at how nobody notices the camera even while using the pen. Even despite its larger bulk. It just seems like a very expensive pen.

As well, the pen comes with SD card, type c cable, and a package perfect for gifting.

I highly recommend this pen/cam for anyone who needs to guard themselves during conversation, work, play, hiking, and security. A great value and excellent quality and performance at any level.
