Betty Crocker’s Au Gratin Scalloped Potatoes mix is a lifesaver when you’re out of fresh potatoes and need a side dish fast! It’s easy to prepare and delivers a delicious, cheesy result.
*Preparation:*
1. Boil 2 cups of milk and 1/4 cup of butter or margarine.
2. Add dried potato and the cheese mix contents and stir until incorporated.
3. Add 1/2 an onion to give the dish a boost!
4. Pour into baking dish and top with additional cheese if desired.
5. Bake at 375°F for 30-40 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
I’d give this product 4 out of 5 stars. It’s a great backup plan for emergency meals, and the convenience is hard to beat!

I buy these scallop potato packages for contingencies when I’m out of fresh potatoes, or just feeling lazy or hurried for cooking. I’ve never had any complaints, but in my last batch of three boxes, one of them contained a broken envelope of the powder, which spread over the other two boxes and a few other things in my delivery. No harm done to the other items – I’ve just wiped them off, but I don’t want to use the open powder in case it’s been contaminated. This is a non-returnable item, so I guess it’s just my bad luck. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
