I’m recently Widowed, and we had our very Traditional lanes. So toilet maintenance was total agreed to me? However, replacing it was an expense I wanted to avoid.
The tank as gross, I knew Christopher wanted to deep clean, said it was important. I can’t even speak intelligently about the inner workings. The metal part that connects the ball to the cylinder that properly allows the ball to float up-down to drain tank had flipped, and that cylinder was catching.
I disconnected that “chain”, drained and tried to cover hole on the cylinder (didn’t work), so unlike other’s who said they filled w HOT water to brim, I filled with HOT water to standard fill. FYI if it goes into cylinder it drains right out. When I emptied tank, I kept swirling solids and gross “stuff” to get heavy stuff out with water.
I would put Garage, Emergency Dog towels (whatever you call them) around toilet, wear work clothes and rubber gloves, though you’ll need shower anyway.
I put water directly in shower, and cleaned immediately when done.
I put the packet in tank, using hand held shower head I filled tank. That way grainy powder dissolved BUT change your setting to ANY GENTLE SETTING or it will just spray back. I used a small med bristle brush to scrub that 3” edge that had no water, left overnight, scrubbing periodically. Nothing was harmed inside the tank
Concurrently, I used my best toilet cleaner gel and placed in empty toilet bowl overnight.
I have Amazon pumice “sticks”, they are amazing. We are on well water. Thankfully no orange Iron stains, but a mineral ring always occurs at the TB water line.
Following morning I used the pumice stone, cleaned that mineral ring. They have never harmed my white porcelain toilets. All 3 look new! My husband did have to replace the seats in 13 years. 42 years…he knew everything I was so blessed!
After the mineral ring, I put the toilet brush in the bowl, so when ai flushed the tank I could use that product to clean the bowl. I was too fast for there to be any reaction with the TB gel. Do not let the tank water sit if you have any TB cleaner, NO! Also, before flushing, scrub the tank and large tank parts well, I have small utility brushes and tooth brushes, a wet micro towels worked the best n the second flush but wear rubber gloves. Remember the float isn’t attached, so the tank isn’t going to fill, you’ll use the shower head.
You can use as much elbow grease as you want. Doing nothing more, it’s going to be huge difference. Remember to switch as you will have gunk, and mineral flames-solids etc.
When I was happy with tank and TB, I properly attached the metal clip from the float yo the cylinder.
It stuck up for 15-20 flushed, it was my husband’s toilet, so I only flush when I shower 1 X day. But after a while whatever mineral was stuck, came off now it works fine, I imagine I could have used another packet, just poured in tank, overnight and it worked have knocked out the minimum left, but all fine.
You can see, if ai figured it out, really anyone can.
I’m sure my guy would be proud and I saved $400-$500. Without his salary that’s big. And I didn’t let fear of a toilet, or the gross factor get me. That’s important. Being willing to keep learning keeps us relevant. I doubt most will read, but for the one person who needs it, hope it helps, blessings!

Great Product – looks brand new.

There is some powder leaking in the same package with a book in the same order. The book got dirty and hard to clean,

It isn’t worth the money I payed for it ,,, I did as instructed and the next morning I saw no difference ,, It did nothing

I *wish* I took a before-picture. I was not expecting this to work, but my tank has probably never been so clean. I was away for a month and came back to brown toilet water and a brown tank. This was super easy to use (all you have to do is pour it in and stir, leave it and it does its magic overnight). So happy I didn’t need to scrub anything. Would 100% buy again and recommend too!

this product does what it says. it cleans the toilet tank, mine is now white. But, I am not sure it was harmless.
since I usded it, the leaking I had from the tank increased and my toilet clogged two times about 4 or 6 weeks from using this product. Is it related to using this? I can’t say, I know my toilet never clogged before.
I’m not sure I will use it again.

Absolutely fabulous! Put the powder in the tank, stirred and the next day the tank was clean. Purchased more.
I have tried all other methods that people have told me, put lemon in the tank, scrubbed the tanks….. nothing worked. But this is a real winner!
