This motherboard was very easy and honestly a dream to build compared to standard motherboards

The BTF build makes it so much easier to determine what goes where on a noisy motherboard

It worked so well, I have no complaints, the MOBO is sturdy and provides a lot of room, not to mention how clean the build looks with no cables.

Just a great experience building with this MOBO, I highly recommend it if you have the money to spare.

This is the last time I will purchase an ASUS motherboard knowingly. Nothing but problems. This is actually a replacement for the first faulty mainboard that would not even boot up to POST screen. This one will boot, but disconnects and comes up with a MBR Error 1, and has even had the Windows drive vanish. Having drives vanish from the boot priority under BIOS was a problem with older ASUS boards, but after 12 and a half years, fix the problem instead of finding excuses. I am only able to keep the computer from crashing by disabling Sleep and Hibernation. I am also having problems with the LAN connection with some programs. I am going to try to clone my SSD to an older drive, reformat as a GPT drive and clone back, or do a clean install, but this should not be happening. I have reached the point that I will no longer purchase ASUS again, and may have no choice but to return this mainboard again for a different brand while I am still in Amazon’s return window. Even my Corsair DDR5 memory installed at a computer repair shop would only operate at 4000 Mhz, instead of about 5400, and and after switching slots, I can still only get it to work at 4800 Hz. Corsair 6000 Mhzz memory is not exactly bargain basement. This board and brand has cost me money for repair shops, failed to boot, given me LAN problems, and sporadically lets my SSD no longer work. This has become a nightmare. Never again.

I recently upgraded to the ASUS Z790-AYW WiFi W II Intel Z790 motherboard and it’s been a fantastic choice for my build—setup was straightforward, the BIOS is user-friendly, and performance has been rock solid with my Intel CPU. The built-in WiFi works reliably, saving me from extra adapters, and the overall design feels premium with plenty of connectivity options for future expansion. It runs cool and stable even under heavy loads, and everything from gaming to multitasking has been smooth. Overall, it’s a dependable, feature-rich board that makes building and daily use hassle-free.

I installed this about 3 weeks ago and it was pretty smooth sailing. There are lots of plastic film covers on various parts to keep it from scratching during install/shipping. Remember to peel them off as you are installing.

It has some LED lights that can be turned on or off in the BIOS. Speaking of BIOS, Asus motherboards always have nice, clear and easy to use BIOS software. This one is no different.

One feature that I likes (but also hated) was that the screws in the M.2 SSD heatsinks were attached to the heatsink. It makes it easier for those with bigger hands to get the screw in place. In the other hand, it also made it difficult to line the screw up with the hole. I feel like there could be a happy medium there.

Finding the Windows drivers was pretty simple, but on first boot, you are prompted to install the Asus Armoury Crate software. It let’s you control/view the fan speeds, LED lights, see the temperatures, install latest drivers and more. It’s actually a really slick idea, but the software itself is awful. It takes up a lot of memory and it crashes all the time. I suggest installing it to get the fastest drivers, then uninstall it right away. NOTE: You will need to use Asus’ Armoury Crate Uninstaller tool available on their website to completely rid yourself of it.

So far, I haven’t had any issues with the motherboard itself. Hopefully it stays that way for a long time.
