Although its limited to 7.5W of wireless charge, its very convenient for that extra boost to keep going. Sure there’s heat, but that’s basic physics. Anyone looking for a minimalistic EDC needs this. The silicon backing that mates to your phone provides good contact and the magnet is strong. Slim design makes holding your phone and the power bank very comfortable. Even on an S24+, the battery works well. Looking forward to trying out the 10mAh slim wireless power bank.

It works as expected. During the charging process, the process interrupted a few times because of overheating

Slim, with a good magnet and the charging goes through my thicker (two-layered) protective case which my other one doesn’t. Very satisfied!

This review is one that directly compares it to the Apple battery pack and in some ways it’s great in others not so much.

Firstly the pros are its well made and easy to use. It will charge your phone to full and in that regard it’s fantastic.
It also can be used cabled to charge your phone which is also great.

Now the reasons why will immediately lead into the cons. This thing as others have stated creates so much waste heat that it’s ludicrous.
I’d hazard in wireless charging mode it spends a good percentage just battling through its own inefficiencies. Which why it’s good that you can use it cabled because it’s realistically a battery pack with an emergency option to use it wirelessly.

Secondly if your phone is full this thing will not stop charging. Unlike the Apple battery pack which when your iPhone is full this thing naturally has no means of directly being the power source. It will top up charge constantly refilling that top 1% of your phone while churning out heat. Heating your phone and itself in the process.

Now using it as a charger is cool since it’s usb C but you will be charging the battery and the battery will be charging your phone. There is no back and forth balancing like the iPhone battery pack. And the iPhone can’t draw directly from the external battery.

The one can be charged by plugging your phone in or the battery pack while they’re attached and they’ll sort it out in either direction. With the phone getting priority either way.

I have a feeling the mAh on the Anker is misleading because while the Apple has theoretically less for anyone who understands Wh you need to factor in the voltage. They both last about the same time but it does do better than the Apple one at filling a dead phone which. Isn’t the point of this product.

It also has no means to communicate to the phone if it’s hot and in turn heating the phone up which the Apple one can do.

In short if you want something to keep around in case your phone dies and then slap it on. Get the Anker. It loses its advantage either way through heat and cumbersome usage.

If you want something that you slap on to use as an extended gas tank that you strip it off once it dies. Get the Apple one. It also means that you don’t need to put wear on your actual phone battery and you’ll get detailed battery percentages and a not simmering hot phone.

For my use case I’d rather keep using the Apple one and for truly long days out with lots of phone use recording or what not it’s better to get a regular angler one with far more capacity and use a cable.

This is designed to work with a few iPhone models, I bought it for an android phone because I don’t like to use wireless charging so the wired charging will work with any device.

So why did I choose this one over others? The magnets, I’ve metal plates on my phone case to use with magnetic phone holders in the car, thought it’d be great for my powerbank to attach to the back and this one does so perfectly, the magnets hold very very well. Another reason is the size, this is one of the thinnest 5000mah batteries out there.

The downsides of a super thin battery like this is that even with wired charging it gets quite warm, for wireless I’m sure it’ll get super hot. The circuitry inside protects it from overheating by shutting it off, obviously that’s slightly inconvenient but not a deal breaker if you want super thin, that’s the cost.

The other issue you may find is not all usb-c cables will provide fast charge capability with this device. It’s a little odd since those same cables do fast charge my phone with other sources, but not this power bank. It works fine with the cable provided, I will try some other cables rated for higher wattage and hopefully solve that issue in case I lose the cable that came with it.

Overall fantastic for my needs even if a little pricey.

Acquistata per avere un po’ di batteria extra durante la giornata e devo dire che fa esattamente quello per cui è pensata. Si attacca bene al retro dell’iPhone, il magnete è solido e non si stacca facilmente nemmeno mentre lo si usa.

Le dimensioni sono contenute e non dà troppo fastidio in tasca o in mano. I 5000 mAh non fanno miracoli, ma sono più che sufficienti per una ricarica di emergenza o per arrivare tranquillamente a fine giornata. La ricarica è stabile e non ho riscontrato problemi particolari.

Apprezzato anche il cavo USB-C incluso, così non serve portarsi dietro altro. Come spesso succede con la ricarica magnetica scalda un po’, ma nulla di anomalo.

Nel complesso un buon prodotto, ben costruito e pratico, soprattutto se si cerca qualcosa di compatto da usare al volo senza cavi.
