Excellent product so far

Excelente reloj, muy preciso en cuanto a las mediciones en ejercicio. El diseño es hermoso muy resistente. Contestar notificaciones de WhatsApp es muy sencillo.

What can I say except that I love this watch. I had my eye on the Falcon, which is more rugged for sure, but I’m glad I decided on the Balance 2.

1. The sensors are next level. O2, heart rate, compass, I tested most of them against quality stand-alone devices and this watch held it’s own. It’s extremely accurate, simple to use, and doesn’t drain a ton of power.

2. The saphire crystal is outstanding, and coupled with the steel chassis styling and finish, the watch just looks and feels like quality and class. Yes, sapphire is a bit more smudgy with the fingerprints, but a trade-off I can live with for sapphire.

3. The Zepp OS is simple yet rock solid. True, the app universe isn’t as vast as Android Wear OS or Apple watchOS, but to me that’s a good thing. It keeps the watch a watch, not a phone on your wrist. I appreciate the distinction.

4. Comfort is good, but to be perfect requires a better band. That said, the band it comes with is good quality and comfortable for 24/7 wear. I wear it at night for sleep tracking and a morning wake-up alarm. As an alarm, the vibration is enough to wake me up, and I’m hard of hearing and a heavy sleeper.

5. Battery life is remarkable for a smart watch, averaging just over 2 weeks on a full charge, and taking about an hour to fully recharge. That’s with regular daily use of GPS, Bluetooth, fitness, notifications, alarms, and other typical use of the watch. My Wear OS watch got about a day and a half, and my watchOS watch got about a day. The magnetic charging base is a plus as well, but I’d love to see this evolve to use Qi charging instead of magnetic contacts, but that’s not a deal breaker. True, the trade-offs and battery savings come from the lack of poorly optimized energy-hungry apps and data-gathering sensors, but like I said earlier, this is a blessing, not a curse, and the long battery life was primary selling point for me.

Overall, this is a fantastic watch, one I would easily buy again. The quality of the frame, the sapphire crystal, the elegant styling, all qualities I’d expect to find in a $300 watch. So if you’re wondering if this watch is worth the money I’d say yes, to me it is. Buy one and judge for yourself.

Excellente montre, rien à dire contre

Kept this watch for almost a month before returning it. The Balance 2 did so many things right – comfortable, good looking design, lots of different faces, sapphire glass, a decent enough app, great battery life, and a very low price. However, the Balance 2 let me down where I needed it to shine the most. Unfortunately, the heart rate sensor and GPS were not good enough.

The main reason I’m in the market for a smartwatch is because I need something that easily displays information when I’m running. The Balance 2’s bright and large screen is great for that. The layout isn’t as customizable as some other watches such as the pixel and galaxy, but it’s all there if you scroll down using the crown, which is a lot easier to manipulate than swiping on the screen when your fingers are sweaty. Too bad the information I saw was not the most accurate.

The GPS under counts a little. Tested versus my phone, it under counts by 1 – 1.5% on runs between 2 – 25km long. It is definitely accurate enough and not worth getting upset over. It is a little annoying because it can cause overtraining if you go by pace, but things will balance out if you run your easy days a little bit easier to make up for the little extra in your hard days. Workouts always have the last 5-10 seconds of running missing from them as well, which is annoying and points to the GPS lagging a little. When I examined my routes post-workout, I am surprised by how smooth my runs were. There are no signs of me swerving around walkers, and the data would have me believe that I never run in the same spot that I ran in the first half of an out-and-back…

The heart rate monitor was the deal breaker for me. Lying in bed, sitting on a chair, going for a walk? Absolutely perfect. Going for a run in zone 2 or 3? Nearly flawless. Zone 4 or 5? I could never trust it. For some reason, the Balance 2 became very reluctant to show any number that pushed my heart rate past anything but the lowest of zone 4. Picking up the speed, repeated high intensity intervals, and hill sprints could push the number up, but according to my Balance 2, I never reached zone 5 in a month and 345 km of running.

To be fair to the Balance 2, I set my own custom heart rate max; if I had left it alone, then I would have hit zone 5 in some of my workouts. However, my other watch showed me hitting zone 5 when I expected to, and so did the Amazfit Heliostrap…

I really wanted to keep this watch. I went and bought the Helio strap because I thought I could pair them together while I ran (You can’t, the Balance 2 only displays the heart rate its sensors pick up so the strap is also getting returned) to solve the heart rate issue, but I need a watch that gets my heart rate correct when it matters most, which is during high intensity workouts.

Unbelievable value especially as it has successfully done 30 Scuba dives no dramas doubling as a very easy to use Dive Computer. Workout and sleep functions seem to work very well and interface and app work well
